Winter Blues 101
Welcome to wet shoes, grey skies, and cold noses. It’s winter here in Canada and our winters can be tough. If you’re feeling like your mood drops with the temperature, you’re not the only one. While Jack Frost brings some people cheerful thoughts of hot cocoa and winter sports, he tends to sprinkle the winter blues on some of us this time of year.
What Are the Winter Blues?
The winter blues are a wave of low emotions that come with these cold, dark days. If you’re experiencing the winter blues, you might feel the need to sleep a bit longer, indulge more often in comfort food, and spend more time with Netflix than with your friends and family.
Managing the Winter Blues
Do you struggle with your mood and energy level in the winter? Do you feel like you have cabin fever from staying inside and keeping warm? This online workshop, hosted by the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA), will explore the challenges that come with winter and how they impact our lifestyle choices, mental health and overall well-being. Strategies will be shared, and we will build hope for the upcoming spring!
The Workshop
This workshop will take place Wednesday, March 9 at 12:00 PM.
